Little Black Dress with Wendy Hughes

Saturdays, Feb 5, 12; Mar 5, 12, 19. 3:30-5:30pm. $185

Create this wardrobe must-have! Learn to operate a sewing machine, purchase fabric and notions, cut patterns and follow sewing directions. Basic skills are taught such as sewing straight and curved lines, basting seams, applying facings, installing a zipper, hand tacking facings and hemming a dress. Group demonstrations and individualized instruction are offered. Portable sewing machine is required.

Fabric Design with Gloria Nilsson

Saturdays, Jan 29; Feb 5, 12; Mar 5, 1-3pm. $125


Our newest fashion program focuses on the decorative quality of fabric including pattern, color basics and textural effects. Students design and create their own unique fabric design to build their portfolio. A great program for beginners and those who have taken Fashion Illustration.

If you enjoy working with yarn, you will enjoy weaving. Don’t know where to start or no room for a floor loom? In these two Workshops, learn how to prepare a Beka Rigid Heddle cherry loom (provided), weave fabric, and create a beautiful scarf just right for your wardrobe. Have fun combining color and texture of your choice to create this Winter fashion accessory!

Art Portfolio Consultation - Ongoing

This hands-on Art Portfolio Workshop is designed to assist High School students develop a comprehensive art portfolio - a requirement by most colleges for consideration to enter an art program. A strong Portfolio must be a collection of the student's best, original and completed artwork. While 10-15 strong pieces are typically required, each college may have differing program requirements in terms of number and theme.

Workshop sessions are flexible and will help students set and achieve specific portfolio goals, tailored to the individual requirements of the program to which they are applying.
