Mysteries of Color for Artists

Six Saturdays, Feb. 27, Mar 6, 13, 20, 27, April 3. 11:45-1:45pm


Boy and His Dog, Aleta Gudelski

This six week class with artist Aleta Gudelski provides an understanding of the properties of color as they apply to painting. Participants explore the properties of hue, value, intensity and temperature, learning to mix colors with limited and expanded palettes. Work with chromatic grays, activate colors, and mix flesh tones. Mysteries of Color for Artists is open to all levels. Cost is $225.

Fashion Illustration

Six Saturdays, Feb. 27, Mar 6, 13, 20, 27, April 3. 11:30-1:30pm

Working with artist Gloria Nilsson participants in our new Fashion Illustration Series will begin or deepen their knowledge of illustration by focusing on proportion, live model quick sketching, foreshortening, action and balance. The Series will start with a full color illustration/collage that utilizes gesture drawings to be completed throughout the program. Beginners welcome, previous attendees can refine their skills.The cost is $165 (materials not included).

Drawing with the Masters

Six Mondays, Feb. 22, Mar. 1, 8, 15, 22, 29. 6:30-8:30pm.

Artist Gloria Nilsson explores unconventional or "edgy" still lifes by well-known artists. Participants will then study and draw from the paintings of artists who display unusual subject matter and style. This Series is for beginner to intermediate levels. Cost is $225.

This hands-on Art Portfolio Workshop is designed to assist High School students develop a comprehensive art portfolio - a requirement by most colleges for consideration to enter an art program. A strong Portfolio must be a collection of the student's best, original and completed artwork. While 10-15 strong pieces are typically required, each college may have differing program requirements in terms of number and theme.
Workshop sessions are flexible and will help students set and achieve specific portfolio goals, tailored to the individual requirements of the program to which they are applying.
