Egg
tempera is a luminous paint, accenting pure color and fine drawing.
Made with egg yolk as a binder and mineral pigments as color,
tempera has the glazing qualities of oil paint, yet is water-based,
fast drying and optically brilliant. Paint a 12x12 original
image on wood panel, exploring panel cover preparation (including
traditional gesso), and using tempera paint you make. A diverse
repertoire of paint application techniques will be taught. All
level of painters are welcome!
Ms.
Parenteau’s piece, Socially Patterned (right),
won First Place at a national exhibition juried by Lilian
Tone of the Museum of Modern Art in New York
