Arts Center's Volunteer Program
Summer-Fall 2010

Be part of a growing arts organization, volunteer with the Arts Center at Killingworth. Learn new skills, meet new people, and be part of a creative organization that gives to the community. Opportunities exist throughout the year for a variety of events and ongoing programs. Teens are welcome and can earn community service credit. (Meet current Volunteers below.)

Upcoming opportunities include:

  • Male/Female Teen Models for Fashion Week (July 12-16)
    Pose for student artists learning fashion illustration. No experience necessary!

  • Art Birthday Party Volunteer (Weekends)
    Set-up, assist the teacher, and help break-down after a Creative Art Birthday Party. email:

  • Advertising Guru (Ongoing, Flexible times)
    Help acquire business sponsors to support the Arts Center's large events by selling ad space for print programs and online. Advertising commission opportunities. Ad target markets include Branford, Chester, Clinton, Centerbrook, Deep River, Essex, Guilford, Ivoryton, Killingworth, Old Saybrook, and Madison. email:

  • Marketing Supporter (June 13-27 & July 12-30)
    Update the Arts Center's contact lists to support the Center's PR and marketing efforts. Learn basic contact database skills.
  • Music & Art Week Camp Counselor (July 26-30)
    Each afternoon during this Art Week, counselors assist artist teachers, supervise lunch and organize outside games.
  • Fundraising Champion (Mid-August, Weekends)
    Help the Arts Center's staff and volunteers put-together the next fundraising mailing. Fold and organize letters and other marketing inserts. Have fun while enjoying pizza! Any amount of time offered is appreciated!
  • Open Art Studio Host (October 9-10)
    Assist a local artist in their private art studio during the Sixth Autumn Art Trail. Get to personally know the artist, welcome visitors to the studio, check and sell Trail passes, and process payment for art buyers.
